Growing in the Christian Faith as an Adult  

At Christ Church we have a number of study and discussion groups all with the aim to know Christ and make Christ known. 

Thursday Bible StudyEach Thursday evening, 7.30p.m-9.00p.m., we meet at the vicarage to study the main passages set for the following Sunday. This gives both depth and the opportunity to think of our own experiences before the subject is explored during the Sunday services. A five week course is studied in Lent – this year we looked at forgiveness, the previous year we learnt new and different ways to pray.  

Thursday Discussion GroupsTwo groups meet on a Thursday morning, 9.30a.m.-11.00a.m., alternating between Zona Sul and Barra/Recreio. The discussions are varied and lively and have included assurance of faith, Christian faith in a nutshell, depression, the environment and ethics, one world many faiths, promises of God, spirituality and superstition, relationships, and suffering, to name but a few. Notes are available if you would like to have a taster of what we do. If you have a topic that you would like to discuss with others, please let us know. 

Sunday Talk about the TalkAfter the main service on a Sunday morning, a discussion is held, for about 40 minutes, on the sermon. It is both an opportunity to ask questions and to discuss further how the text can be applied in our daily lives. If you are at Christ Church to worship, but are unable to join another group during the week, this is a great opportunity to grow with others.
